Job summary

Washington State University’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Teaching), a fixed-term, 9-month appointment in Pullman, WA. The successful candidate will teach 4 courses per semester (80%), with 20% devoted to service, mentor students, and contribute to high-impact pedagogy on campus and online via the Global campus.

Preferred candidates have teaching experience in legal/court related areas and online instruction, and must have Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or J.D. ABD must be in criminal justice, criminology or a related discipline.
• Degree must be earned by appointment start date.
• Experience teaching in criminal justice, with online instruction valued.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory and upper-division courses (4 per semester, 4/4).
• Provide student mentoring and engage in service to the department and college.
• Potentially teach graduate seminars and contribute to online Global campus courses.
