Job summary

Macon-Bibb County Government invites applicants for the Investigator role to conduct criminal investigations and support the District Attorney's Office in prosecutions. The position interviews complainants, witnesses, victims, suspects, and informants, obtains statements, and plans court presentations with prosecutors.

You will also serve warrants, develop intelligence, review information, and file case reports.

Qualifications

• Possession of a four-year degree and at least five years of experience in POST-certified employment.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and court procedures.
• Ability to interview complainants, witnesses, victims, suspects, and informants.
• Skill in preparing case reports and presenting evidence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct criminal interviews and obtain statements.
• Plan court presentations with prosecuting attorneys and present evidence.
• Serve court papers and warrants; obtain and serve warrants.
• Develop intelligence resources and participate in undercover operations.
• Review information, write reports, and file case documentation.
• Assist other agencies with investigations and share information.
• Maintain vehicle and equipment; transport witnesses as needed.
• Attend required training and perform related duties.
