Katz Law LLC in Wisconsin is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our criminal defense team. This role is for a lawyer who wants real litigation, takes ownership of cases, and works as part of a collaborative defense team.

The candidate should be comfortable in court, capable of handling a full caseload with minimal micromanagement, and willing to travel across Wisconsin for hearings. At least 3–5 years of criminal litigation experience is preferred, including trial work and

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Wisconsin.
• 3–5+ years of criminal litigation experience.
• Meaningful courtroom experience.
• Able to handle cases independently.
• Strong writing and persuasive legal arguments.
• Clear communication with clients; responsive service.
• Willingness to travel for court appearances statewide.

Responsibilities

• Manage own criminal caseload from appearance through resolution or trial.
• Appear regularly in Wisconsin circuit and municipal courts.
• Handle motions, hearings, plea negotiations, and trials.
• Review police reports, footage, and forensic evidence.
• Draft motions, briefs, and other filings.
• Interview clients and witnesses and prepare cases for litigation.
• Negotiate with prosecutors and be ready to litigate.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and team.
• Travel statewide for court appearances when necessary.
