Job summary

Boly:Welch in Oregon is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 3-5+ years of experience to join a mid-sized defense firm known for excellent client service.

You’ll handle cases from client intake through trial preparation, court representation, and post-trial proceedings, conduct research, interview witnesses, negotiate pleas, and draft documents. Spanish-language ability is a plus, and the role is hybrid with four in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience, preferably in criminal defense; experience in prosecution or family law also considered.
• JD
• Oregon State Bar membership
• Spanish speaking skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in criminal defense from initial consultations through trial and post-trial proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, interview and prepare witnesses, consult with experts, and draft legal documents.
• Negotiate plea deals and advocate effectively in court.
• Collaborate with colleagues and assist Spanish-speaking clients when needed.

You’ll work closely with your clients through each stage of their case – from new client consultations and investigations to trial prep, court representation, and post-trial proceedings. This will include conducting research, consulting with experts, interviewing and preparing witnesses, negotiating plea deals, and drafting legal documents.

You’ll need strong legal knowledge and negotiation skills to effectively advocate for your clients. Spanish-speaking skills would also be an asset for this team.

This is a hybrid position with four in-office days each week.
