Job summary

Wegmans in Alexandria, VA is seeking a member of our restaurant foods team to educate customers about fresh ingredients and help create high quality meals. In this role you will cut, prepare, and serve a variety of hot and cold items and work as part of a team to make meal preparation quick and enjoyable.

You will build relationships with customers and deliver exceptional service by addressing needs promptly, while following safe food handling, storage, and merchandising procedures.

Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, grasping, repetitive and sustained hand and arm movements, bending, reaching, frequent lifting, and occasional heavy lifting, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5-20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds rarely. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with exposure to cold (33-55 degrees) temperatures and hot equipment (exceeds 135 degrees). Basic tools and equipment used include ovens, stove, common cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment.; Food preparation experience
