Job description

Job Summary:

The Lead Communications Technician will act as the on-site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The role requires 100% travel and involves ensuring job completion according to company and customer quality and safety standards while maintaining staff efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Manage major project crews, oversee performance, and provide training.
  2. Ensure adherence to safety and quality guidelines, hold weekly safety meetings, and escalate issues to the Project Manager as needed.
  3. Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and compliance with the project budget.
  4. Complete all project paperwork accurately and timely, including timesheets, work orders, and change orders.
  5. Perform quality checks, coordinate moves, prepare cross-connects, and update as-built drawings.
  6. Serve as the main on-site customer contact and attend meetings as required.
  7. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, demonstrating detailed technical knowledge.
  8. Perform other assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • Must be self-motivated, professional, and promote company culture.
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers and team members.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors, read small print, and recognize audible signals.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory as needed.
Tools and Education:
  • Proficiency with specified tools and Microsoft Office.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3 years in telecommunications or related field, with fiber termination experience.
  • At least 6 months supervisory experience.
Additional Information:
