Job description

Summary: Directs activities of workers concerned with Construction by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on the basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for trade.

Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of planning to prevent delays.

Confers with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to resolve problems within the workforce.

Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.

Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to crew schedule.

Directs workers concerned with major maintenance for existing installations detailed to trade.

Responsible for proper materials and methods for patching and rubbing of walls.

Responsible for proper use of all personal protective equipment for crew.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the construction trade. Also directly supervises various employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include evaluating new hires, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals. Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Valid driver's license

30 Hour OSHA card

Rough terrain forklift certification

Aerial Lift certification

First Aid and CPR
