Atlas Surveying, Inc. is seeking a skilled Crew Chief to lead field surveying teams on a variety of projects across the Southeast. You will supervise crews, assign tasks, and ensure accuracy and efficiency on site.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in land surveying with at least 3 years in a Crew Chief role, proficient use of total stations, GPS, and data collectors, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. This is a hands-on leadership position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in land surveying; 3+ years as Crew Chief with leadership track record.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and methodologies.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
• Proficiency with OSHA safety regulations; willingness to enroll in OSHA programs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with no infractions for at least 3 years to drive company vehicle.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise survey crews in the field, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
• Conduct field surveys using advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and data collectors.
• Perform boundary surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking, and other surveying tasks as required.
• Interpret survey data and prepare accurate field notes, sketches, and reports.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project objectives are met.
• Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for the survey crew.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Crew Chief to lead our surveying teams in the field. As a Crew Chief, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing surveying operations, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of projects while leading a talented team of surveying professionals. Candidates must have at least 3 years’ experience as a Crew Chief in the land survey profession.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise survey crews in the field, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying, 3 years as a Crew Chief with a proven track record of leadership.
• This position will require driving a company vehicle. Therefore, a valid driver's license and no infractions for a minimum of 3 years is required to be approved to drive a company vehicle and added to the company insurance policy.

• The ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift 75 lbs. Mental and physical labors are to be expected.

• Must be self-driven with little to no supervision.
