Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) is seeking a Sheet Metal Designer to join our team in Etters, PA (Valley Green area). You will design sheet metal components for high-speed connector products, create Creo models, and generate production drawings.

The role requires 3–4 years of Creo-based sheet metal design, knowledge of stamping/bending, and GD&T proficiency. Strong collaboration and attention to detail are essential for timely program deliverables.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering, CAD, mechanical design, or related field.
• 3–4 years of mechanical design experience using Creo Parametric, including sheet metal modeling and assembly design.
• Experience creating formed sheet metal parts, flat patterns, and fabrication drawings.
• Working knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes (stamping, laser cutting, bending, forming).
• Proficiency with part/assembly features, reference geometry, patterns, and drawing detailing.
• Familiarity with ANSI/ASME drafting standards and GD&T.
• Ability to consider material selection, tolerances, and manufacturing constraints in design work.
• Experience with Windchill PDMLink is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with product development, mechanical, and process engineers to design sheet metal components and assemblies for high speed connector products.
• Create and maintain 3D Creo models, assemblies, flat patterns, and production drawings.
• Apply sheet metal design principles, including bend radii, bend allowances, material thickness, formed features, and manufacturability.
• Develop detailed drawings with appropriate dimensions, GD&T, material specifications, and fabrication notes.
• Design models that capture design intent and support efficient revisions, product families, and derivative designs.
• Review designs with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve fit, assembly, tolerance, and production issues.
• Maintain CAD files, drawings, and revisions in accordance with company practices.
