Job summary

Schneiderman & Sherman, P.C. is seeking an experienced Associate Litigation Attorney to join its creditors’ rights and default servicing practice in Michigan. You will represent financial institutions in foreclosure, eviction, title disputes, and related matters, managing matters from strategy through trial.

The ideal candidate delivers strong writing, precise analysis, and effective client service, with knowledge of bankruptcy effects on foreclosure and eviction preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the State Bar of Michigan.
• Litigation experience with the ability to manage matters and appear in court.
• Knowledge of Michigan court procedures and filing requirements.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills and client service.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.
• Experience with creditors’ rights, foreclosure, eviction, or title issues is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of contested, litigated, judicial and commercial foreclosure matters from referral through resolution.
• Draft and prepare filings, pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Develop and execute litigation strategies for complex matters.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations.
• Manage discovery and respond to written requests, review documents, and address disputes.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to lenders and servicers and coordinate with teams.
