The role is based in the U.S., with a salary range of $145,000 to $155,000, potentially supplemented by discretionary incentives and benefits. The Credit Underwriter will be part of the Credit group within Sumitomo Finance & Leasing (SMFL), focusing on underwriting commercial vehicle, construction, and machine tool transactions. Key responsibilities include managing credit risk, implementing credit policies, and providing ongoing portfolio analysis.
Qualifications include an undergraduate degree in finance or related field, with five or more years of relevant equipment finance underwriting experience. Preferred skills involve financial analysis, regulatory knowledge, excellent communication, and proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, Salesforce, and Aspire systems. Experience in underwriting aviation or project finance is a plus.
