Job summary

Bank of America in Chicago, IL is seeking an experienced Commercial Banking Underwriter to manage a portfolio and oversee underwriting and monitoring for diverse clients. You will lead financial analyses, structure loans, and coordinate with Risk and Relationship Management teams to drive sound decisions.

The role requires 3+ years in commercial banking, strong analytical and communication skills, and thorough understanding of loan structuring and financial modeling.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of solid experience in Commercial Banking underwriting, performing financial analysis, structuring, and portfolio management.
  • Strong communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

This job is responsible for supporting credit underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients in partnership with a credit team. Key responsibilities include independently managing transactions or portfolios of limited to moderate complexity, completing and reviewing credit analysis, evaluating risks, and writing financial analysis. Job expectations include leading the process, ensuring timely and accurate analysis, and coaching teammates on credit requirements.

Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of solid experience in Commercial Banking (Middle Market or Large Corporate or Leveraged Finance) underwriting, performing financial analysis, structuring, and portfolio management
  • Strong communication and analytical/technical skills, including financial accounting, modeling and loan structuring.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Participate with RM or CO's to negotiate Credit Agreements & loan documents, as needed.
  • Be knowledgeable of the closing process & timeline for all types of loans (i.e. real estate, revolvers, etc.)
  • BA/BS Desired

Pay range

$88,000.00 - $187,500.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
