Job summary

Bank of America is seeking a Commercial Real Estate credit underwriter who will support underwriting and monitoring for new and existing clients. You will lead analyses, review junior work, and draft financial analyses for approvals in partnership with Credit Officers and Risk teams.

The role emphasizes timely, accurate analyses, coaching teammates on credit requirements, and collaboration across Relationship Management and Loan Administration to ensure sound loan decisions.

Qualifications

• 2+ yrs experience as a credit underwriter within corporate or commercial banking
• 3+ yrs experience as a Commercial Real Estate credit underwriter covering large private CRE enterprises, CRE private equity funds, or public REITs
• Proficiency with Credit Center

Responsibilities

• Leads the credit analysis process with the support of other analysts and associates
• Partners with Credit Officers, Relationship Management, and Risk teammates to understand structuring needs and requirements
• Monitors operating performance and financial condition, proactively identifying issues and opportunities
• Assists in delivery of financial modeling, loan structure, industry, economic, and other analyses to team members to support the loan decision‑making process
• Reviews work of junior teammates to provide feedback/coaching and ensure compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policy procedure
• Has credit approval for certain credit actions
• Participates in loan structure conversations and completion of loan documentation with internal/external legal partners
• Gathers, manages and reviews additional due diligence and third‑party reports once deal is mandated
• Prepares credit packages and circulates for approval
• Responsible for Flood Process and regulatory data capture associated with deal closings
• Completes renewals, material modifications and extensions (non‑preapproved)
• Completes Treasury‑related requests, including card and ACH facilities for credit clients only
• Partners closely with the Credit Officer and Loan Administration team in loan closings
