KeyCorp’s CRR seeks a SIT Manager to lead a multidisciplinary team through strategy, governance, and execution across credit risk review and analytics. The role integrates strategy, quality, operations, technology, and data reporting to deliver enterprise-wide risk insights.
The manager drives planning and KPI frameworks, ensures regulatory readiness, and coordinates with senior leadership, the board, auditors, and external reviewers while maintaining CRR independence and strong risk judgment.
Location: For Those Who Work At Home, Ohio
Credit Risk Review (CRR) operates as an independent Second Line of Defense function that provides objective assessment of credit risk and credit risk management practices. CRR performs ongoing credit reviews, validates risk ratings and credit quality, identifies emerging portfolio risks, and provides timely insights to management and the Risk Committee. The Strategic Insights Team (SIT) Manager is the integrative leadership role responsible for converting CRR’s mandate and priorities into a sustainable operating model. The Manager leads a multidisciplinary team spanning strategy, quality, business operations and administration, technology and AI enablement, and data and reporting. The role has enterprise accountability for CRR planning, execution infrastructure, tools, quality, governance, reporting, regulatory readiness, and continuous improvement. The Manager serves as a strategic extension of the Head of CRR and a primary connection point across CRR leadership, review teams, senior risk management, the Board, regulators, Internal Audit, external reviewers, and enterprise partners. Success requires strong credit-risk judgment, sustained leadership presence, organization, creative problem-solving, and the ability to lead multiple interdependent workstreams while anticipating downstream impacts.
Enterprise leadership and operating model. Lead the design and continuous evolution of CRR’s operating model, governance, organizational responsibilities, management routines, processes, tools, and supporting infrastructure. Create structure in ambiguous or evolving areas and identify gaps before they become execution failures.
Strategy and transformation execution. Establish CRR’s strategic agenda and translate priorities into coordinated initiatives, milestones, ownership, dependencies, communications, and measurable outcomes. Lead multiple concurrent workstreams as project sponsor, project leader, design authority, or escalation point.
Annual planning, risk assessment, and capacity. Lead strategic planning, annual risk-based coverage planning, risk-assessment recalibration, capacity analysis, staffing scenarios, and prioritization. Connect portfolio risk, Risk Intelligence, cycle requirements, quality needs, resource constraints, and emerging workload to defensible coverage and staffing recommendations.
Execution and KPI accountability. Own CRR’s performance-management infrastructure, including KPI design, definitions, data integrity, thresholds, governance, reporting, and escalation. Monitor execution against review plans, coverage, timelines, quality expectations, talent measures, and strategic commitments; drive corrective action when risks or conflicts emerge.
Credit-risk and review judgment. Apply strong knowledge of commercial and consumer credit, portfolio management, risk ratings, underwriting, ongoing monitoring, problem-credit management, sampling, and credit review practices. Assess how policy, portfolio, economic, data, system, or methodology changes affect CRR scope, tools, staffing, testing, and reporting.
Risk Intelligence, data, and executive reporting. Lead CRR’s Risk Intelligence, ongoing monitoring, red-flag, analytics, dashboard, and management-reporting capabilities. Integrate portfolio trends, review results, quality themes, internal indicators, and external developments into forward-looking insights, testing direction, planning decisions, and concise executive, regulatory, and Board reporting.
Quality, methodology, and framework stewardship. Provide leadership oversight of Quality Verification and use results to strengthen methodology, training, tools, guidance, and execution. Direct the design, implementation, calibration, and change governance of linesheets, samplers, review-effectiveness tools, communication trackers, testing frameworks, and related guidance.
Technology, automation, and AI enablement. Serve as business sponsor and product owner for CRR tools and data solutions from concept and requirements through testing, implementation, adoption, guidance, maintenance, and enhancement. Advance responsible automation and AI use while preserving human accountability, data quality, transparency, auditability, and regulatory defensibility.
Governance, GRC, controls, and issues management. Oversee CRR’s GRC domain, RCSA and control environment, findings and remediation infrastructure, Enterprise Disposition Log, notifications, user access, records retention, disaster recovery, and closure-related activities. Ensure systems, policies, procedures, evidence, and actual practices remain aligned.
Policy and documentation governance. Serve as CRR Policy Manager and coordinate policy, standards, procedures, methodology, and guidance updates. Maintain clear ownership, review cycles, approvals, version history, implementation communications, and escalation of exceptions or noncompliance.
Regulatory, audit, and Board-facing leadership. Serve as a primary CRR representative for regulatory updates and examinations, Internal Audit, external quality assessments, and other third-party reviews. Lead preparation of clear, complete, and defensible materials and responses; articulate CRR’s independence, methodology, planning, quality, controls, findings management, and performance.
People and multidisciplinary team leadership. Lead, coach, and develop professionals across strategy, quality, business operations and administration, technology and AI enablement, and data and reporting. Establish priorities and accountability; build cross-training, succession readiness, and capabilities needed for an evolving, high-accountability function.
Stakeholder leadership and change management. Build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with direct reports, CRR staff, peers, senior leaders, committees, technical partners, regulators, and auditors while preserving CRR independence and constructive challenge. Ensure material changes are supported by stakeholder input, training, implementation support, and post-implementation calibration.
Credit risk or banking credential such as the RMA Credit Risk Certification (CRC) or equivalent. Relevant credential in project management, data/analytics, risk management, technology, or process improvement are beneficial.
Operate as a strategic extension of the Head of CRR by bringing forward issues, connections, implications, recommendations, and solutions rather than only reporting activity. Balance long-term transformation with disciplined execution of recurring CRR governance, quality, planning, reporting, and operational responsibilities. Lead visibly and consistently across the organization, maintaining clear direction and communication through periods of rapid change and competing priorities. Anticipate emerging needs and position CRR with the people, information, tools, processes, and capabilities required to remain independent, forward‑looking, credible, and effective.
