Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Model Developer to join the Model Development & Decision Support (MDDS) team.

You will build and implement expected loss forecasting models for Commercial Real Estate and Small Business portfolios, ensuring regulatory alignment and strong data governance. The role requires communicating complex model results to stakeholders, maintaining BAU integrations, and guiding model performance monitoring and backtesting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field with five or more years of relevant experience OR MA/MS with three or more years, or PhD with less than two years.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement expected loss forecasting models for CRE and Small Business portfolios.
• Ensure models align with CECL, CCAR, and regulatory requirements and risk management policies.
• Communicate model functions and results to stakeholders to support BAU integration and compliance.
• Monitor model performance, perform backtesting, and manage data development and quality.
