Job summary

BankUnited seeks a Credit Risk Analytics Analyst to join the Enterprise Risk Analytics team in Miami. The role focuses on credit risk modeling, reporting, and improving the modeling framework to identify and manage financial risk.

You will own vendor credit loss models, become expert in Moody's CMM, RiskCalc, MPA, and ZMDesk, and drive automation and robust reporting across dashboards and documents.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in financial services with analytics and modeling applied to credit risk and/or market risk.
• Experience with programming languages, particularly Python.
• Experience utilizing and merging data from a variety of databases.
• Experience with a wide assortment of financial modeling techniques including credit losses, loss migration, VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis.
• Prior experience in credit risk reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own third‑party vendor credit loss models for CRE and C&I; review model performance and maintain documentation.
• Become an expert in Moody's CMM, RiskCalc, MPA, and ZMDesk models and develop deep knowledge of how they work.
• Advance and refine use of Moody's models; leverage data to improve credit risk accuracy and support stress testing and risk attribution.
• Lead quarterly and annual end‑to‑end stress testing; develop meaningful scenarios for management.
• Integrate risk results into capital planning, budgeting, and risk appetite frameworks.
• Periodically report financial risks via Tableau dashboards, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Drive automation of modeling routines and reporting for consistency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with data and technology teams to improve data infrastructure supporting these initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and Bank policies, monitor for suspicious activity.
