Job summary

Adyen is seeking a Credit Risk Analyst based in Chicago to evaluate, manage, and scale credit risk for our growing financial products portfolio. You will underwrite SME and enterprise lending, monitor portfolios, and design scalable risk processes in collaboration with cross-functional partners.

The role blends deep financial expertise with problem solving, data-driven decisioning, and a focus on sustainable growth for merchants. Hybrid work 3x/week in Chicago, with RSUs included in compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
• Strong ability to interpret financial statements and identify risk drivers.
• Experience managing credit portfolios across SMB and enterprise lending.
• Familiarity with US regulatory frameworks; regulatory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit underwriting and portfolio monitoring for various financial products including SMB loans and other credit facilities.
• Analyze impact of business model, industry, and macro trends on credit portfolios and risk offering.
• Develop and implement credit risk strategies to improve portfolio performance within risk appetite.
• Improve global and US credit risk underwriting frameworks, including policies and procedures.
• Provide risk expertise to stakeholders to ensure risk is considered in new product development.
• Identify manual underwriting/monitoring steps suitable for AI-driven automation.
• Create documentation and governance for automated decisions with auditability.
