Jobtailor in Mount Laurel, NJ seeks a seasoned Credit Manager to lead financial analysis and risk assessment for commercial lending. You will manage a portfolio of mid-market loans, ensure compliance with loan terms, and drive credit initiatives across business lines.

Responsibilities include guiding underwriting quality, coordinating with Relationship Managers, and mentoring a team of Credit Analysts. Expect extensive interaction with senior management and the ability to navigate complex loan

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or work experience equivalent required.
  • 10+ years related experience required.
  • Strong understanding of commercial business development techniques and credit decisions.
  • Credit and financial analysis skills.
  • Working knowledge of capital markets is a plus.
  • Refined negotiation skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Occasional domestic travel.
  • Ability to perform continuous sedentary work, multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, concentrate for long periods, read/write/comprehend instructions, and perform basic arithmetic.
  • Occasional sitting-related physical activities, including standing, walking, squatting, bending, reaching forward, and lifting/carrying under 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial analysis for credit decisions on new and existing business.
  • Support the commercial banking team and recommend value-adding credit solutions.
  • Manage a designated portfolio of commercial loans.
  • Ensure compliance with loan agreements, regulatory requirements, underwriting, and risk-rating policies.
  • Oversee the portfolio risk profile and identify macro and micro risk issues early.
  • Manage complex credit activities, underwriting quality, consistency, and workflow timeliness.
  • Work on larger, complex deals focused on Middle Market and highly specialized lending.
  • Create, develop, and introduce commercial and credit-related initiatives.
  • Consult with business lines regarding credit issues, processes, and procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for business lines and work with senior management on issues, expectations, and timelines.
  • Partner with Lending/Credit Officers on internal and external audit or examiner exceptions.
  • Perform periodic customer-site inspections to audit accounts and ensure adherence to loan agreements and terms.
  • Coordinate with Account and Relationship Managers on financial analyses and credit investigations.
  • Communicate credit decisions to Relationship Managers and Account Managers as needed.
  • Manage departmental workflow and policy adherence.
  • Participate in organizational cost-benefit analysis and implementation.
  • Create and maintain quantifiable service-level standards.
  • Ensure timely information and efficient processes and workflow.
  • Maintain confidentiality of credit and customer information.
  • Lead a team of Credit Analysts within a region or market as needed.
