Job summary

Cooper Electric Supply, LLC seeks a seasoned collections professional to manage customer accounts and drive timely payments from contractors. You will coordinate with billing and sales, document actions taken, and advise on escalation paths as needed.

The role requires 5+ years in collections, 2+ in the construction sector preferred, and strong customer service plus verbal/written communication. Office-based in Cranbury, NJ with standard hours and benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in collections; 2+ years in Construction Industry preferred.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate information and present solutions to customers.
• Experience operating computers; Get Paid experience a plus.
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned accounts daily and initiate collection actions through Get Paid system via email and/or phone.
• Maintain clear documentation on steps taken towards collections on all accounts.
• Monitor accounts and recommend collection escalation/Legal counsel to senior management.
• Provide notification to internal sales partners regarding collection issues.
• Assess risk by researching credit history and reports.
• Perform account reconciliation as needed.
• Review credit hold reports and release orders as appropriate.
• Work with internal billing to resolve billing disputes.
• Perform other tasks to support the department.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in collections with 2+ Years in Construction Industry Preferred
• Strong customer service skills and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong mathematics, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate information and present solutions to a customer.
• The ability to operate computers and relevant computer software. Experience utilizing Get Paid is a plus.
• Ability to prioritize needs in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• This job is performed primarily in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
• Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Salary Range: 55,000-80,000

Location: Cranbury, NJ

Work Hours: M-F; 8 am - 5 pm
