Summary

The Credit Analyst Manager is responsible for leading a team of Credit Analysts and driving effective loan analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management in support of the commercial banking strategy. This position partners closely with Commercial Relationship Managers to support new and existing loan relationships and serving as a designated resource, emphasizing credit quality, risk mitigation, and portfolio performance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Manages a team of Credit Analysts, coordinating workflow to maximize efficiency and productivity while ensuring service quality standards are met.
  • Develops talent in partnership with the Credit Analyst Senior Manager and Credit Analyst Learning Consultants, providing coaching, training, and feedback to employees.
  • Works closely with Relationship Managers (RMs), serving as a liaison between the line of business and credit analysts to establish clear deadlines, workflow, and process efficiencies.
  • Reviews and oversees credit packages sent for approval to ensure quality of credit analysis.
  • Works on new and larger complex loans and relationships, providing backup support, as needed, to Credit Analysts when deadlines are compromised.
  • Assists with commercial loan portfolio management, working with RMs and the commercial banking organization to achieve timely completion of covenant testing, Annual Loan Reviews, and Problem Loan Status Reports.
  • Proactively addresses performance management and identifies coaching opportunities.
  • Maintains a strong understanding of First Interstate Bank Loan Policy.
  • Serves as the primary resource for Credit Analysts with respect to policy compliance, credit analysis, financial analysis, and underwriting practices.
  • Compiles various reports as requested.
  • Assists in the implementation and training of new software products for commercial loan analysis and the commercial lending function.
  • Acts as a resource to loan officers for loan structures and underwriting recommendations.
Management Responsibilities
  • Oversees the day-to-day management of Credit Analysts.
  • Provides relevant and ongoing training to team of Credit Analysts.
  • Develops a team of Credit Analysts.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Requires in depth knowledge of commercial and construction loans, credit/financial analysis, lending, and underwriting with the ability to apply information to current role.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk indicators and economic factors impacting credit quality.
  • Ability to consistently utilize in depth credit knowledge to guide and direct team members.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education And/Or Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required
  • 7-9 years years of banking experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required and
  • Supervisory and/or management experience required and
  • Commercial banking experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The anticipated pay range for this position is $83,000 to $137,000 per year in CO and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Additionally, this role is eligible to receive annual discretionary cash and stock bonuses. Benefits available for this position include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability benefits and life insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings account, employee assistance program, 401(k), Paid Time Off (new hires accrue at .069 per hours worked which equates to approximately 18 days per year inclusive of paid sick time) and up to 11 paid Federal holidays.
