Job summary

Mercy seeks a Credentialing Specialist to verify practitioner files for initial appointments and reappointments within required timeframes and standards set by accrediting/regulatory agencies across Mercy Network, Mercy Clinic and Mercy Hospitals. The role requires gathering, entering, and verifying information, and communicating with applicants to complete their credentialing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or prior data entry/credentialing experience may substitute education.
• Prior credentialing or database entry experience preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Analytical experience preferred.
• Certifications in CPCS and/or CPMSM preferred; certification must be earned within two years of eligibility.
• Willingness to travel; flexible hours and long hours at a computer.

Responsibilities

• Verify and coordinate credentialing for approximately 8,000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment.
• Prepare and send applications, gather and verify information, and communicate with applicants as necessary.
• Maintain compliance with accrediting/regulatory agencies and standards for Mercy Network, Mercy Clinic, and Mercy Hospitals.
• Communicate verbally and in writing with applicants to complete their credentialing process.
• Assist with expedited requests and deadline-driven tasks in a fast-paced environment.
