Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join the Medical Staff Credentialing Services team. Under the Manager's direction, you will handle credentialing processes, verifications, and maintenance of documents for credentialed practitioners.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in healthcare credentialing and NAMSS certification is strongly preferred. Strong MS Office and credentialing software experience are expected; flexible, sometimes overtime work may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation required; Associate and/or Bachelor degree preferred.
• NAMSS Certification (CPCS or CPMSM) strongly preferred.
• Experience: 2 years of healthcare practitioner credentialing required.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and reappointment credentialing processes and changes in privileges.
• Maintain ongoing verifications and required documents to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and Medical Staff Bylaws.
• Support the credentialing team under the Manager and assist with staff resignations and related duties to maintain standards.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Manager, Medical Staff Credentialing Services, incumbent performs as part of a healthcare practitioner credentialing team in support of the Harris Health System credentialed practitioners. Credentialing processes address initial and reappointment requirements, changes in privileges, on-going maintenance and verifications of current required documents, staff resignations and other duties to maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation agencies and the Harris Health System Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Specialized Training/Licensure:High school graduation required; Associate degree and/or bachelor degree preferred. NAMSS Certification (CPCS or CPMSM) strongly preferred
• Work Experience (Years and Area):2 years of healthcare practitioner credentialing experience required.
• Management Experience (Years and Area):None required
• Equipment and Software Expertise: Computer, Fax, Copy Machines, Microsoft Office, Credentialing Software System, Scanners; Required Testing: MS Word, MS Excel
