Job summary

UCHealth Rangeview Loveland is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to process physician and allied health professional initial and reappointment applications, temporary privileges, and other credentialing instances. You will verify primary sources for licenses, certifications, education, training, and work history.

The role is onsite with dayshift schedule, full-time, 80 hours per pay period. Pay ranges from $24.11 to $36.17 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: High School diploma or GED.
• Preferred: CPCS or CPMSM or CPES by NAMSS or RHIA.

Responsibilities

• Collects, reviews and prepares documents for Medical Staff Services review for clinics, surgery centers, hospitals and payer environments.
• Works with providers to obtain any missing information.
• Processes applications for additions or changes in clinical privileges.
• Ensures licenses, malpractice coverage and certifications are current at initial and reappointment.
• Verifies completion of training and immunization records as required.
• Maintains files on medical and allied health professionals including licensure and disciplinary actions.
• Participates in development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Summary

Processes physician and allied health professional initial and reappointment applications, temporary privileges, additional privileges, and other credentialing instances. Obtains primary source verification for: licenses, certifications, education, training, and work history.

Responsibilities

Collects, reviews and prepares documents for Medical Staff Services review for clinics, surgery centers, hospitals and payer environments. Works with providers to obtain any missing information. Processes applications for additions or changes in clinical privileges.

Ensures that requisite licenses, malpractice coverage, and certifications are current for all medical staff members and allied health professionals at the time of initial and reappointment application. Verifies completion of training and collects immunization records as required.

Maintains files on medical and allied health professionals including information related to licensure or clinical practice disciplinary actions, clinical practice restrictions, and medical malpractice suits, judgments and settlements.

Participates in the development and implementation of credentialing policies and procedures.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Required Licensure/Certification: None required. Preferred: Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Staff Management (CPMSM) or Certified Provider Enrollment Specialist (CPES) by the National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
