Job summary

Animal Doctors of South Tampa, part of AmeriVet Veterinary Partners, is seeking an experienced veterinary technician with surgery experience. The role involves rooming patients, assisting in surgery and recovery, handling and restraining animals, IV catheter placement, radiology, blood draws, and running bloodwork.

We offer a $1,000 sign-on bonus and starting pay around $25+ per hour based on experience, with opportunities for growth, benefits, and a collaborative team in a high-energy clinic

Qualifications

• Candidates must be a certified veterinary technician with surgery experience.
• Experience with IV catheter placement and handling anxious patients is required.
• Familiarity with radiography, blood draws and running bloodwork is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians in surgical procedures and recovery.
• Room patients, restrain animals, and maintain calm, clean work areas.
• Perform IV catheter placement, blood draws, and run basic lab tests.
• Operate standard imaging and laboratory equipment and document findings.

$1,000 SIGN-ON BONUS! Starting at $25+/hour — Compensation Based on Experience MUST HAVE SURGERY EXPERIENCE!!

Animal Doctors of South Tampa is actively looking for an experienced veterinary technician. The ideal candidate will be confident working with the veterinarians and technicians, comfortable in rooming patients, and very comfortable assisting in surgery, surgery recovery, have experience with proper animal handling and restraint, able to confidently place IV catheters, have knowledge of x-ray and positioning, drawing blood and running bloodwork, able to use laboratory equipment, understands the importance of client education, is a positive and supportive team player, and strives to continue to increase their knowledge in the veterinary industry and able to remain calm in a high-stress environment.

Requirements

• Certification Required
• Ability to work rotating Saturdays
• 2+ years of experience working as a Veterinary Technician
• Knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
• Understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
• Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
• Passion for working with animals and their owners
• Ability to multi-task efficiently
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive and supportive team player
