AVC of Pasco in Hudson, FL is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our AAHA-accredited team. You will apply your veterinary expertise alongside veterinarians, assisting in surgeries, monitoring anesthesia, running lab tests, and handling diagnostic imaging to support superior patient care.
Ideal candidates hold an accredited veterinary technology degree, sit for the national licensure exam, and demonstrate strong science knowledge, clear communication, and compassion for animals
Qualifications
- Associate degree in veterinary technology from an accredited program.
- Sit for or successfully passed a national licensing exam.
- VTNE and licensure may be required depending on state.
- Strong science background, communication, and compassion for animals.
Responsibilities
- Assist in surgical procedures, prepare the operating room, and support veterinarians during surgery.
- Monitor anesthesia during procedures, ensuring animal safety.
- Collect blood samples, conduct laboratory tests, and interpret results.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging, such as X-rays, to aid diagnoses.
- Oversee recovery of patients, administer medications, monitor vital signs.
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medications, and home care.
- Advise on preventive health, nutrition, and routine wellness.
