Job summary

Stellar Senior Living is seeking a part-time Sous Chef for our Edmonds, WA community. You will act as second in command in the kitchen, helping create seasonal menus and meal designs under the executive chef’s guidance.

The role emphasizes creative execution and quality dining for 55+ residents. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience, strong knowledge of cooking methods and kitchen operations, and comfort with MS Office and restaurant software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of cooking methods, kitchen equipment, and best practices.
• Proficiency with MS Office and restaurant software.
• Demonstrated teamwork and leadership abilities.
• Experience with special diets and large-group meal prep preferred.
• Safe food handling techniques required.
• Able to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Develop new menu options based on seasonal changes and customer demand.
• Assist with the preparation and planning of meal designs.
• Ensure that kitchen activities operate in a timely manner.
• Monitor and record inventory, and if necessary, order new supplies.
• Provide support to junior kitchen employees with various tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
• Recruit and train new kitchen employees to meet kitchen standards.
• Create schedules for kitchen employees and evaluate their performance.
• Adhere to and implement sanitation regulations and safety regulations.
