Position Summary

The College of Architecture, Visual Art, and Design ( CAVAD ) atCalifornia Baptist University invites applications for adjunctfaculty positions in the field of Creative Process / DesignThinking with an emphasis on Christian Faith Integration to teachin the college’s keynote interdisciplinary courses 1) Creativity:Process & Purpose and 2) Creativity: Context &Collaboration. These high-energy, hands-on, activity-based coursesprovide a foundational Christian understanding of Creativity andexplore disciplinary best practices for a flourishing CreativePractice. Qualifications

A terminal degree in a creative field (e.g. Architecture, InteriorDesign, Graphic Design, Film, Photography, Art, Illustration), orclosely related discipline, is preferred. Candidates working towarda terminal degree, or have significant experience in the field, maybe considered. Candidates must embrace the mission of CaliforniaBaptist University, and evidence a clear understanding of, andcommitment to, excellence in teaching through the integration ofChristian faith. Successful candidates will have a history ofquality university teaching experience or significant professionalengagement in the field, and demonstrated relational skills.

Teaching Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities will include teaching in theundergraduate interdisciplinary creative sequence focusing onChristian integration with the Creative Process. The creativecourse sequence is offered every semester with multiple sectionsproviding regular staffing opportunities for successful candidates.Specific course assignments will be dependent upon applicantqualifications.
