Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and valid NM teaching license.
• Endorsements as required by subject/area and NM PED guidelines.
• Knowledge or familiarity with Dine language, culture and history preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of content areas and approved curriculum.
• Differentiate instructional methods and resources in each area taught.
• Create an atmosphere conducive to learning and student self-concept.
• Communicate accurately and professionally with students and parents.
• Apply principles of student growth and development in instruction.
• Use diagnoses data to improve instructional programs.
• Manage classroom to maximize instructional time and maintain high expectations for behavior.
• Enter and maintain records and prepare for substitute teaching as needed.
• Use current technology for instruction and management.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in committees as necessary.
