Job summary

Tommy Bahama is seeking a Creative Designer II to join the in-house Marketing team for a temporary leave coverage assignment from Oct 2026 to July 2027. You will develop and execute branded, omni-channel campaigns with a focus on simplicity and consistency of the brand.

You will lead end-to-end design from concept to delivery, collaborating with ecommerce, merchandisers, and front-end developers. A strong portfolio and expertise in Figma, Adobe CC, and After Effects are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design or related field.
  • Generally, 5+ years related digital design experience in an e-commerce environment.
  • Experience with eComm content creation.
  • Experience utilizing AI to augment skills and efficiencies.
  • Portfolio demonstrating ability to work in multiple design aesthetics for digital touchpoints.
  • Proficiency in Figma including auto-layouts, variants and prototyping.
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC applications on macOS.
  • Experience with animation and After Effects.
  • Print creative best practices knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong visual design principles: typography, iconography, color, layout.
  • Self-starter, independent, owns projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to continuously elevate creative in a fast-paced digital landscape.
  • Collaborative mindset with peers and stakeholders.
  • Superior time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and present top-quality design from concept to delivery, complying with brand standards in digital and marketing materials.
  • Produce elevated typographical and visual solutions adhering to seasonal and brand style guides.
  • Create elevated editorial experiences across digital and print content, including website, emails, campaigns and paid media.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration to create scalable, user-centric design solutions with expertise in Figma.
  • Work with illustrated and patterned elements, occasionally extracting elements for spot illustrations and iconography sets.
  • Offer innovative ideas and alternatives while questioning traditional approaches.
  • Collaborate with ecommerce, site merchandisers and frontend developers to maintain creative vision and user experience.
  • Contribute to print projects including direct mail and in-store promotional elements.
  • Support evolution of Tommy Bahama's digital presence.

Job description

This is a temporary position covering a leave of absence. The assignment is expected to run from October 2026 through July 2027, subject to change depending on business needs and the returning employee's timeline. The role is fully in-house and sits within the Marketing team.

SET THE COURSE

The Creative Designer II role is an integral part of the Creative Services Team focusing on the development and execution of branded, omni-channel campaigns with an emphasis on simplicity and consistency of brand throughout.

BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
  • Execute and present top-quality design from concept to delivery, complying with brand standards in execution of all digital and marketing materials.
  • Produce consistently elevated typographical and visual solutions adhering to seasonal and brand style guides.
  • Create elevated editorial experiences across all digital & print content, including our website, emails, omni-channel campaign suites and paid media.
  • Drives cross-team collaboration to create scalable, user-centric design solutions with expertise in Figma.
  • Work with illustrated and patterned creative elements, occasionally extract elements to execute for spot illustrations and as iconography sets.
  • Consistently provide innovative and creative ideas, putting forward imaginative alternatives and question traditional approaches.
  • Work with ecommerce, site merchandisers and front-end developers promoting consistency and integrity of the creative vision and all guest experiences and flows.
  • Work with illustrated and patterned creative elements, occasionally extract elements to execute for spot illustrations and as iconography sets.
  • Additionally, work on print projects inclusive of, but not limited to, direct mail and in-store promotional elements.
  • Strive to evolve and grow the digital presence of Tommy Bahama.
  • Preform other duties as needed to help support the overall business.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
  • Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, Digital Design or related field.
  • Generally, 5+ years related digital design experience in an e-commerce environment
  • Experience with eComm content creation
  • Experience utilizing AI to augment skills and efficiencies.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates the ability to work in a variety of design aesthetics, for a range of digital touchpoints and visualizations for brand storytelling
  • Proficiency in Figma and utilizing advanced features, including auto-layouts, variants, and prototyping
  • Proficiency in Adobe CC applications in a Mac OSX environment
  • Experience and knowledge of animation & After Effects
  • Experience and knowledge of print creative best practices a plus
  • Deep understanding of visual design principles and process (typography, iconography, composition, color, layout, etc.)
  • Self-starter who can work independently and take full ownership of projects.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Exhibits a hunger to do great work and continually elevate creative while embracing an evolving and fast-paced digital landscape.
  • Exhibits natural inclination to collaborate with peers and stakeholders
  • Superior time management skills

Note: This is a temporary position intended to provide coverage during a leave of absence. The assignment is currently scheduled for October 2026 through July 2027 subject to change based on business needs. Hourly Pay Range: $26.78 – 40.17
