Qualifications

  • BA or BFA in theatre.
  • Experience in theatrical cutting, stitching, and crafts.
  • Experience in theatrical costume design.
  • Knowledge of costume materials and fabrics.
  • Experience with sewing machines and equipment (industrial and domestic).
  • Minimum five years sewing experience.
  • Comfort working with beading and sequins.
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs and work around chemicals.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Commitment to diversity and faith statements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage costume studio, storage, supplies, and inventory.
  • Oversee all costume construction, alterations, repairs, and cleaning.
  • Design costumes for two theatre productions per year.
  • Collaborate with guest designers and mentor student designers.
  • Attend production meetings, fittings, and dress rehearsals.
  • Lead the costume crew and supervise student employees.
  • Coordinate rentals and loans to events.
  • Maintain safety standards in the studio.
