The Communications Coordinator is accountable for the following results:
The Communications Coordinator at The Well Church exists to help tell the story of what God is doing through creative, engaging, and excellent digital communication. This role supports the overall communications strategy of The Well Church through social media management, content creation, storytelling, copywriting, and digital coordination. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter who is passionate about the local church, understands digital culture, and knows how to create content that connects with people. They are highly motivated, eager to grow, and able to take initiative without constant direction. This role has a primary focus on managing and creating content for the Senior Pastor’s digital platforms while supporting the overall social media presence and communication efforts of The Well Church.
STAFF PROFILE
A member of staff is a self-led, secure son/daughter of the house who can gather and empower people, build teams, discover and develop leaders, communicate effectively in large and small gatherings, and facilitate spiritual moments and discipleship.
This is a role that requires membership at The Well and attendance at Church and events.

Core Qualifications
- Church & Brand Alignment
- Understands and supports The Well Church’s vision, culture, voice, and brand standards.
- Digital Content Expertise
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital storytelling.
- Expert knowledge of video editing and content creation.
- Experience creating platform-specific content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, web, email, and other digital channels.
- Strong copywriting ability for captions, campaigns, promotions, and churchwide communications.
- Experience using professional video cameras, lighting, and production equipment is preferred.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or comparable creative tools is preferred.
- Self-Led Ownership
- Highly motivated, self-starting, and able to take ownership without constant direction or motivation.
- Actively learns new platforms, tools, trends, and creative approaches.

- Applicants must submit a portfolio or examples of previous video editing, social media, writing, photography, or other relevant creative work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Responsibilities
- Work within the Creative Communications and digital team to develop concepts that work across multiple platforms simultaneously.
- Partner with the Director of Creative Communications to execute creative strategies, priorities, and communication plans.
- Create and manage multi-channel content calendars aligned with The Well Church’s vision, voice, events, and ministry rhythms.
- Coordinate content planning and communication for campaigns, events, ministry initiatives, and churchwide priorities.
- Manage assigned workflows, project timelines, and deliverables with clarity, organization, and follow-through.
- Maintain organized content files, media assets, and an accessible archive for the Creative Communications team.
- Analyze and evaluate content performance to identify growth opportunities and improve engagement.
- Identify and explore new opportunities for content creation, digital storytelling, and audience connection.
- Stay current on industry trends, platform updates, editing styles, and content tools.
- Adhere to The Well Church’s brand, style, and content guidelines in every deliverable.
- Communicate project updates, needs, and expectations clearly, consistently, and proactively.
- Participate in regularly scheduled creative, production, and staff meetings.
- Protect and help communicate the culture, values, and vision of The Well Church.
- Work collaboratively with ministries, worship, leadership, design, photography, and video teams.
- Use initiative to solve problems and move projects forward without constant oversight.
- Build trusted working relationships with staff members, leaders, volunteers, and ministry partners.
- Continue developing systems and processes that support sustainable content growth and consistent execution.
- Respond to communication in a timely, professional manner and follow established team expectations.
Social Media & Digital Strategy
- Manage and support the Senior Pastor’s social media presence, including planning, posting, engagement, and content strategy; support the management and execution of The Well Church’s social media platforms; monitor trends and performance to continually improve reach and engagement.
Content Creation & Production
- Capture, create, and edit high-quality digital content for multiple platforms.
- Produce short-form videos, social media reels, photography, recap content, promotional pieces, and testimonial/storytelling content.
- Edit video content with excellence and adapt it for the intended platform and audience.
- Assist with capturing content during services, events, and ministry initiatives.
- Use professional video cameras, lighting, and production equipment when appropriate and available.
- Create content that reflects the heart, culture, and brand standards of The Well Church.
Writing & Communication
- Write engaging, clear, and compelling copy for social media, captions, digital campaigns, promotions, and communication channels; translate ideas and church initiatives into content that connects with people.
Creative Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with creative teams—including photography, video, design, worship, ministries, and leadership to deliver cohesive content.
- Recruit, develop, and lead volunteers who support content creation and digital storytelling; create healthy environments where volunteers can grow and use their gifts.
- Receive feedback with humility, execute changes quickly, and contribute ideas, energy, positivity, and solutions to every environment.
Weekend Responsibilities
- Capture and coordinate content from Sunday services, special services, and events as assigned.
- Help tell stories of life change through video, photography, written copy, and social media.
- Represent the heart and culture of The Well Church while serving alongside staff and volunteers.
- Be available to support ministry moments and creative needs during assigned services or events.
Dream Team & Volunteer Leadership
- Meet regularly with content and Creative Communications Dream Team members.
- Continually seek and invite potential volunteers and emerging leaders to serve with the team.
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteers in content creation and digital storytelling.
- Initiate and cultivate a fun, God-honoring culture that reflects the heart and values of The Well Church.
- Relationally lead and pastor volunteers in their spiritual, personal, and professional growth as appropriate.
- Create opportunities for volunteers to use their gifts, receive feedback, and develop their creative skills.
- Set clear, attainable goals for volunteers and follow up with encouragement, coaching, and accountability.
- Provide volunteers with the communication, scheduling, tools, and direction needed to serve successfully.
- Celebrate, care for, and build meaningful relationships with Dream Team members and leaders.
Special Events
- Support planning, staffing, promotion, and content capture for special events and ministry initiatives.
Resource & Fiscal Responsibilities
- This role does not have primary fiscal responsibility; manage any assigned content-production expenses responsibly.
- Follow The Well Church’s established approval and financial processes for assigned purchases or expenses.
- Maintain organized records for approved content-production purchases as requested.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Actively learn from churches, organizations, industry resources, and creative communities to bring fresh ideas and solutions to The Well Church.

- Consistent development of new volunteers and emerging leaders for content creation and digital storytelling.

- Regular storytelling content that helps people connect with what God is doing through The Well Church.
- Current, accurate digital and social media content that supports The Well Church’s communication goals.
- Healthy growth in engagement, reach, and audience connection across assigned digital platforms.
