Job summary

Aramark is hiring a Cook for the UChicago Medicine - Ingalls Patient Svc & Retail site in Harvey, IL. You will cook, prep, and plate a variety of foods, following production guidelines and standardized recipes. Weekend availability is required, and you will operate ovens, stoves, slicers, and other kitchen equipment.

You’ll focus on food safety, quality, and customer service while contributing to a collaborative team. This role offers growth opportunities within Aramark’s food service network.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role required.
• Validated knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and recipes.
• Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely use utensils including knives.
• Operate ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers and other equipment.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam and use various cooking methods.
• Arrange, garnish and portion food according to guidelines.
• Store food properly following safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor.
• Follow Aramark safety policies and procedures.
