PURPOSE To lead and develop a Christ-centered Creative Arts ministry that forms people in worship, communicates the gospel with clarity and excellence, and creates environments—both in-person and digital—that lead people to hear, see, and follow Jesus. The Creative Arts Pastor must openly display godly character as instructed in 1 Timothy 3.
Primary Responsibilities
Spiritual Leadership & Formation
- Cultivate a culture of worship that extends beyond gatherings into everyday life.
- Shepherd and disciple those serving in Creative Arts to grow as mature followers of Jesus and disciple makers.
- Ensure all lyrical, visual, and creative elements are theologically grounded and aligned with Scripture.
- Provide pastoral care within the department, including weddings, funerals, and other shepherding responsibilities as needed.
Weekend & Gathering Leadership
- Serve as primary worship leader and spiritual leader for weekend gatherings—utilizing choir, orchestra, band members, and vocalists.
- Oversee and execute all in-person and online gatherings with a clear focus on proclaiming the gospel.
- Lead the creative direction and service flow for weekends, series, and special events in partnership with the Lead Pastor and Communications department.
- Ensure excellence and intentionality in every aspect of the worship experience.
- Lead the creative process for all gatherings, aligning music, visuals, and storytelling with sermon content and church vision.
- Encourage creative innovation that enhances gospel communication across all environments.
- Maintain and protect the integrity of Arcade’s voice, culture, and creative expression.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, develop, and care for Creative Arts staff and key leaders.
- Manage the team that develops systems and workflows for efficient, high‑quality weekend service video production and post‑production.
- Build and sustain a culture of multiplication by identifying, training, and empowering new leaders.
- Equip musicians, vocalists, and creatives to grow in both skill and spiritual maturity.
- Provide clear direction, accountability, and coaching to staff aligned with church‑wide goals.
Volunteer Recruitment & Systems
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and development of volunteers across all Creative Arts teams.
- Ensure effective scheduling, rehearsal structures, and team communication.
- Build scalable systems that support continued growth and excellence in the ministry.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with the Executive Pastor and Elder/Pastor team to execute ministry vision and goals.
- Collaborate with Family Ministries to develop and identify future worship leaders.
- Manage and steward the Creative Arts budget with wisdom and alignment to priorities.
- Maintain strong collaboration with the Communications team, which reports directly to the Executive Pastor, to ensure unified messaging and execution across all platforms.
Personal Development
- Maintain a vibrant personal walk with the Lord rooted in Scripture and prayer.
- Pursue ongoing growth in both theology and creative craft.
- Continually explore new and effective ways to communicate the gospel through the arts.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading worship in a church context.
- Proven ability to lead and develop teams in a staff environment.
- Strong musical leadership, vocal ability, and an understanding of music theory that supports and utilizes multiple worship styles.
- Experience with modern worship technology and production tools.
- Ability to think creatively while executing with clarity and excellence.
