Qualifications

• Licensed or eligible for licensure in assigned grades by the Massachusetts DESE; SEI endorsement included.
• Meets all Massachusetts Department of Education standards for Highly Qualified Teacher.
• Bachelor's Degree, Master’s preferred, from an accredited college or university, in a related field.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, to children and adults.
• Commitment to remain current in content knowledge and teaching strategies.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and in conformity with state certification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Teaches knowledge and skills in art, including crafts, drawing, painting, lettering, design, commercial art, art history, and three-dimensional art.
• Evaluates and refines instructional strategies, including use of technologies, to increase student learning.
• Demonstrates appreciation for diversity and equitable opportunities for student learning.
• Maintains professional competence through development and recertification activities.
• Participates in team and district activities and attend meetings as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
