Job summary

The Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan is seeking an experienced, creative, and reliable Children\'s After School Class Assistant to support after-school dance and theater classes for children aged 4–10 at the Center for Family Life. The role starts in September 2026 with scheduled Tuesday 3:15pm–4:00pm and Wednesday 3:15pm–5:00pm sessions.

Ideal candidates are enthusiastic about working with children, strong communicators, and able to foster an inclusive classroom environment while assisting lead

Qualifications

• Prior teaching experience with children ages 4–10 preferred.
• Background in dance or theater.

Responsibilities

• Support students during class by providing individualized assistance that fosters growth and enjoyment of dance and theater.
• Prepare the classroom or studio before each session by setting up materials and equipment, ensuring safety and order.
• Collaborate with lead instructors to implement curriculum and assist with class activities.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and organized learning environment in line with JCC policies.
