Job summary

Paint Hive Studio is seeking an enthusiastic Art Class/Event Assistant to support our after-school art program for K-6 students. This seasonal, per diem role offers hands-on experience in an educational setting and requires assisting with activities, preparing materials, and maintaining a safe classroom environment.

The assistant will work closely with the lead instructor, help monitor progress, and contribute ideas to enrich session experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience with children in art-making setting preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and passion for fostering artistic expression.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead art instructor in setting up space and preparing materials.
• Maintain a safe, organized learning environment for all participants.
• Provide individual attention and guidance to students during sessions.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the lead instructor.
• Contribute ideas to enhance art selections and session experiences.
• Ensure art supplies and equipment are cleaned, maintained, and stored after each session.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as documenting headcount and material usage.
• Collaborate with the team to create visuals for the program while respecting privacy (photos of children may not be used).
