Job summary

MRK Industries, Inc., a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, is hiring a Crating & Skid Fabrication Operator for the 2nd shift. Build crates and packaging per drawings using miter/panel saws and pneumatic tools, while supporting overall manufacturing flow.

Safety, quality, and teamwork are emphasized; prior carpentry experience is preferred but not required. The position offers an hourly rate of $20–$22 with benefits and opportunities for growth within a large company with a local feel.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in carpentry or woodworking preferred but not required.
• Ability to read shop drawings and interpret measurements.
• Familiarity with power tools and measuring equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and work in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production layouts.
• Build and assemble wooden crates, skids, and packaging per design requirements.
• Cut lumber to precise tolerances using saws and cutting equipment.
• Inspect assemblies for structural integrity and dimensional accuracy.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow SOPs and safety policies.
• Support 5S, continuous-improvement initiatives and training participation.
