Lift Solutions Holdings in Iron Mountain, MI is hiring a Crane Technician II to install, inspect, maintain and repair hoist and crane equipment. You will work at heights, follow safety standards and support customers with professional service.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, OSHA-compliant inspections, and the ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues while maintaining high workmanship and safety.

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
  • Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
  • Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
  • Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
  • Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
  • Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
  • Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
  • Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
  • Required to use own hand tools and meter.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
  • Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
  • Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
  • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.
  • Perform electrical and /or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
  • Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
  • Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
  • Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc.
