Job summary

Lift Solutions Holdings, LLC in Peoria, IL seeks a Crane Technician to install, inspect, maintain, and repair hoist and crane equipment on-site. The role emphasizes safety, quality installations, and customer interaction to ensure uptime and service excellence.

The technician will perform electrical and mechanical work, document actions, and stay compliant with relevant codes while traveling locally as needed. This is a physically demanding, hands-on position with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Troubleshoot cranes and hoist equipment; ensure uptime.
• Ability to work at height and in noisy environments; physically demanding.

Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists through quality installations.
• Perform OSHA-equivalent inspections and warranty work; troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance; respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
• Interface with customers and office to repair equipment as needed.
• Make electrical and/or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers; suggest improvements and techniques.
• Document service actions via forms, reports, and checklists.
• Maintain professionalism and organization in all areas.
• Know Federal, State, local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Handle company equipment including vehicles and tools.

The Crane Technician will provide quality installation, inspections, maintenance and repair service for hoist and crane equipment. A Crane Technician will also uphold the highest level of professional integrity and ethics as required to instill customer confidence and continued success in service.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Service overhead crane systems and hoists by performing quality installations.
• Perform OSHA equivalent inspections; documenting and completing warranty work; troubleshooting breakdowns.
• Perform preventive maintenance; and respond to emergency service/breakdown calls.
• Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer and office in repairing equipment as needed.
• Perform electrical and /or mechanical adjustments or repairs with or without engineered drawings.
• Maintain rapport with customers by examining complaints; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; and recommending system improvements.
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist.
• Maintain professional presentation, timeliness, appearance, and organization in all areas.
• Develop a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local codes for overhead cranes and hoists.
• Responsible for company equipment including, company vehicle(s), tools, etc.

Requirements

Education & Qualifications

• 5 or more years’ troubleshooting cranes and hoist equipment is required.
• Experience with 3-phase motors, VFDs, contactors, and circuits.
• Previous overhead crane and scissor lift experience required.
• Local travel to customers on a daily basis required.
• Associate’s degree with concentration in Industrial Electrician, Electro-Mechanical Technology, preferred.
• Ability to work at height, in extreme temperature and noisy locations. This is a physically demanding job involving standing, walking, sitting and the ability to lift 50-100lbs.
• Perform inspections to OSHA criteria.
• Ability to work independently.
• Capable of dealing directly with the customer and representing self and company in a professional manner.
• Communication skills both internally and externally, informing both the company and the customer the status of the job.
• Quality and results driven while maintaining a safety mindset.
• Required to use own hand tools and meter.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
