Job summary

TIC – The Industrial Company is seeking a crane operator for a day shift in Abilene, TX. The role involves operating RT or lattice cranes (Tadano, Liebherr, Link-Belt) and leading lifts with a focus on safety and capacity awareness.

Responsibilities include rigging and daily equipment inspections, following instructions, and ensuring compliance with project plans. The job requires physical work on a construction site and availability for overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred depending on experience.
  • Must have strong working knowledge and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand, power, and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

  • Perform rigging and daily equipment inspections.
  • Respond to commands from rigger or helpers.
  • Observe load travel and act to prevent injury or damage.
  • Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities for work activities.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for contract compliance and address deficiencies.

TIC is lookinng for a crane operator for their project in Abilene, TX.

Shift Information
  • Pay Rate up to $40/hr depending on experience
  • Day shift postion (7:00am - 5:30pm) Monday- Friday
  • Type of cranes operated- RT and lattice operators -Tadano, Liebherr, Link-belt
Primary Responsibilities and Duties
  • Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects.
  • Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
  • Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection.
  • Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
  • Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
  • Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators.
  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Qualifications
  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools
Requirements
  • The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
  • Must have required tools
  • NCCCO or equvilent required
