Role Summary

The Crane Operator will safely and efficiently operate cranes and other hoisting/construction equipment as directed by Blue Hat Crane or jobsite leadership. This position will be responsible for proper daily maintenance and inspections of equipment, professional customer interaction, and maintaining accurate records. The Crane Operator will work with other Blue Hat Crane employees to ensure that all rental equipment is in proper working order, following the JE Dunn Hoisting Policy Manual and manufacturer guidelines. All activities support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Operate equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to policies and guidelines.
  • Conduct daily inspections and document findings.
  • Report equipment deficiencies promptly.
  • Test and inspect equipment before use.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Document maintenance, repairs, and inspections accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with team and clients regarding maintenance questions.
  • Assist in field repairs as needed.
  • Operate/drives safely, complying with safety policies and regulations.
  • Operate multiple types of hoisting equipment (e.g., Tower, Crawler, Rough Terrain, All Terrain Cranes, Telehandlers).
  • Mobilize and demobilize Mobile Cranes.
  • Train and guide other operators and oilers on-site or nearby.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Follow-up effectively on inquiries.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Identify construction materials and equipment.
  • Operate designated hoisting equipment competently.
  • Read crane load charts (Advanced).
  • Use diagnostic tools and troubleshoot.
  • Follow critical lift plan procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Build team relationships and collaborate internally and externally.
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent (Required).
  • Formal training in hoisting equipment (Preferred).
  • Relevant experience considered in lieu of formal training.
Experience
  • 3+ years mobile crane operating experience (Preferred).
Working Environment
  • Must lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Overnight travel may be required.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
  • Frequent activities include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, carrying, swinging, reaching, pushing, pulling, balancing.
  • Occasional activities include sitting and viewing screens.
