Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Crane Operator to operate various types of cranes for lifting materials, objects, or personnel into place. The role involves driving cranes to the work site, setting up equipment according to the manufacturer's manual and company safety rules, including cribbing/matting as required. The Crane Operator will also direct oilers, truck drivers, or helpers in setting up and dismantling the equipment, placing cribbing blocks or pads, and may operate cranes based on signals from the oiler or helper. Additionally, the operator may bolt or pin boom sections to modify boom lengths. This position is part of a team and may require working as ground crew depending on the task. The ideal candidate will be involved in all aspects of modular delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Operate a mobile crane to lift, move, and position loads.
2. Unload crane accessories from trailers or support vehicles.
3. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections, including daily and monthly equipment checks.
4. Follow safety procedures and maintain logs of vehicle repair status and working hours (FMCSA).
5. Work under direct supervision, often for long hours, involving sitting, standing, moving, and climbing.
6. Work in outdoor environmental conditions, including weekends and holidays.
7. Perform routine maintenance and carry tools for repairs.

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or GED with 1-5 years of experience.
2. Knowledge of OSHA Regulations and ANSI standards related to crane operations.
3. Ability to read and speak English.
4. Ability to pass drug tests and background checks.
5. Strong communication skills and technical proficiency.
6. CDL Class A license preferred; NCCCO, TSS, TLL, LBC certifications are a plus but not required.

Abilities

• Lifts at least 100 pounds at once and 60 pounds for extended periods.
• Relocates a 12-foot stepladder independently.
• Works at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
• Performs physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
• Possesses good vision (corrected if necessary), color vision, and the ability to hear and communicate in English.
• Uses ladders and tools within weight limits.
• Recognizes problems or potential issues, applying general rules to specific problems.
• Identifies relationships among different pieces of information.
• Sees details at close range and comprehends spoken information.
