Amentum is seeking a Crane Maintenance Technician III to join our industrial maintenance team in Davenport, IA. The role involves troubleshooting and maintaining cranes, hoists, and related equipment on a 3rd shift with potential overtime based on customer demand.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years of crane/hoist troubleshooting experience (or 1 year plus tech school), and a willingness to travel locally.

• Adheres to safety guidelines including lockout/tagout and PPE requirements.
• Identifies safety issues and conducts equipment evaluations to prevent failures.
• Performs general maintenance of equipment at heights up to 30 feet.
• Willing to travel locally up to 50% and work at sites in Davenport, Moline, or QC area.

Typical hours: Monday - Friday, 3rd shift; overtime and hours may vary based on customer demand.

Pay range: $27-$30 per hour based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Responds to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive and corrective maintenance on the facility hoists, cranes and other mechanical equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.


• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.


• Identifies and corrects any safety-related issues and performs independent equipment evaluations to identify potential equipment failures.


• Performs general Maintenance of equipment.


• Works in environments 6 to 30 ft above ground


• Travels to other sites when required (in the local Moline, Davenport, or QC area)

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.


• 3 years of experience troubleshooting cranes and hoists OR 1 year of mechanical experience along with a tech school


• Industrial maintenance or related facility maintenance discipline.


• Crane certification isn't required to start but you must be able to obtain - we will help you become certified.


• Must have the ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher. Training will be supplied.


• Must have a valid driver's license.


• Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.


• Must be willing to travel locally up to 50% of the time.


• Must be able to lift or carrying up to 50 lbs.; stand and/or walk for prolonged/extensive amounts of time; can use a ladder or lift and work on structures or equipment above ground level; work in cramped or uncomfortable places and positions; can push, pull, or lift heavy equipment, supplies, or parts.

Physical Requirements

• Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.


• Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.


• Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.


• Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.


• Requires the ability to regularly move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.


• Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.


• Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.


• Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.


• Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.


• Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Special Requirements

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.


• Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained
