Job summary

Southland Holdings is seeking experienced construction Heavy Equipment Mechanics to join our team as skilled mechanics for heavy construction equipment such as crawler and hydraulic cranes, pile drivers, and earth-moving gear. The role requires diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, reading repair manuals, and travel to project sites as needed.

Welding certification is a plus; OSHA safety training and CPR/First Aid are desirable.

Qualifications

• 1+ years related experience working on cranes, hydraulics, general heavy equipment.
• Ability to read and comprehend repair manuals.
• Must be able to lift 0 to 50 pounds occasionally for hand work.
• Must be able to work overtime and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Analyze issues and repair heavy construction equipment fleet (cranes, earth moving equipment).
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems on mobile equipment.
• Dismantle and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Test repaired equipment to ensure operating efficiency.
• Willingness to travel and stay overnight to support projects.
