Job summary

Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, AR, invites a 2027 Curatorial Spring Intern (U of A MA Student) to support exhibition development, object research, and interpretive writing for our craft collections. Work closely with the Windgate Curator of Craft on projects spanning historic to contemporary American craft.

The role provides hands-on experience in collection analysis, label writing, and collaboration with museum teams, with a weekly schedule arranged with the supervisor.

Qualifications

Enrolled in University of Arkansas, Fayetteville MA program in Art History.
Interest in American craft, historical to contemporary.
Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated research and writing skills.
Positive attitude and collaborative spirit.
Ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion.
Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

Responsibilities

Collection Research: Build object files for collection objects and prepare presentations.
Acquisitions Research: Investigate potential acquisitions to support craft holdings.
Exhibition Development: Research, interpretation, and checklist organization for future projects.
