Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a CPU Silicon Bring up and Validation Engineer to join the CPU Silicon Bringup Team. You will collaborate with CPU design and verification to craft bring up plans and validate silicon from first silicon through productization.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in CS/EE with 5+ years' experience.
  • 3+ Experience in Silicon Validation and bring up.
  • Embedded firmware in assembly, C/C++ language.
  • Experience with tool chain including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles, and source code control tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CPU bring up and validation test plans with design and verification teams.
  • Prepare for CPU bring up through pre-work on emulation and FPGA platforms.

  • Triage and debug silicon failures; reproduce issues on emulators and FPGAs.

General Summary

As a "CPU Silicon Bring up and Validation Engineer" you would be part of the CPU Silicon Bringup Team, within the CPU team. The charter for CPU Silicon Bringup team would be to prepare for and support bring up of every SoC using the Custom CPUs - from first Silicon through to productization.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Work with CPU design and verification teams to develop CPU bring up and validation test plans.
  • Prepare for CPU bring up through pre-work on emulation and FPGA platforms.
  • Work with SOC bring up teams, software teams to plan CPU bring up.
  • Triage and debug failures on Silicon.
  • Develop test contents and testing strategies to assist validation of CPU on silicon.
  • Work with CPU verification teams to reproduce silicon fails on emulators and FPGAs.
  • Work with design team to suggest, architect new debug features to improve future CPU bringups.
Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS degree in CS/EE with 5+ years' experience.
  • 3+ Experience in Silicon Validation and bring up.
  • Implementation of assembly, C/C++ language embedded firmware
  • Experience with software tool chain including assemblers, C compilers, Makefiles, and source code control tools.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred Requirements
  • Knowledge in Server performance - Ability to debug and analyze CPU from SPEC INT, SPEC Float and DC Perf workload analysis.
  • CPU, L2/LLC, NoC, memory, and DDR performance analysis
  • Emulation-based performance validation
  • Thermal behavior and sustained-performance analysis
  • DCVS, frequency, power, and thermal-limit correlation
  • Benchmark analysis and performance-regression debug
  • Correlation between emulation, Reference design, and silicon measurements
  • Cross-functional issue resolution with CPU, power, firmware, and system-validation teams

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$147,900.00 - $221,900.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
