State University of New York Upstate Medical University is seeking an A/R specialist with medical billing and anesthesia coding expertise in Syracuse, NY. The role involves reviewing clinical documentation to assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for anesthesia services, critical care, and pain management, and managing denials and appeals.

Candidates should hold a High school diploma and CPC certification, with 2+ years of medical billing experience. EPIC experience is preferred.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPC certification with two years medical billing experience.
• Certified professional coder through AAPC or AHIMA required.

Mansioni

• Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to assign ICD-10-CM, CPT codes for anesthesia services.
• Ensure maximum reimbursement and regulatory compliance for anesthesia department (Anesthesia, Critical Care, Pain management).
• Follow-up on outstanding claims, perform reconsiderations, appeals, and resubmissions as needed.
• Notate billing and collection efforts in EPIC and re-verify insurance during patient registration.
• Handle patient billing inquiries and process payments and payment plans.
