Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Two years law enforcement or corrections experience.
• Graduate from WA Basic/Reserve Law Enforcement Academy or equivalent; federal experience allowed.
• Qualified firearms use-of-force training per state requirements.
• Must obtain Special Commission from Thurston County Sheriff's Office at hire.

Responsibilities

• Secure weapons before courthouse entry and process unlawful arms.
• Maintain accurate daily visitor counts and records.
• Operate screening devices and perform searches for threats.
• Monitor CCTV and respond to security incidents; intervene as needed.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and assist in evacuations and incidents.
• Provide information and assistance to the public.
