Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout for customers.
2. Strive to bag at least five items while ensuring contents are not damaged.
3. Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
4. Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of basket for checkout.
5. Offer to help customers load bags into their car.
6. Perform basic shelf conditioning.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials.
8. Return merchandise to store shelves.
9. Gather and return shopping carts to designated areas.
10. Clean spills, and collect trash inside the store and parking lot.
11. Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
12. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
13. Understand the store's layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
14. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and reporting unsafe conditions or issues.
15. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
16. Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.
17. Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers with questions about products.
18. Follow all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
19. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
20. Manage conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
22. Follow directions and seek assistance when resolving issues.
23. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
24. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
