Job description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at check out for customers.
2. Associate will strive for at least five items in the bag while ensuring that contents or items are not damaged.
3. Follow best practices for bagging items in various types of bags (reusable/plastic/paper).
4. Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of the basket for checkout.
5. Offer to help customers with loading bags into their car.
6. Perform basic shelf conditioning.
7. Inform customers of grocery specials.
8. Return merchandise to store shelves.
9. Gather shopping carts and return them to designated areas.
10. Clean spills, and collect and pick up trash inside the store and parking lot.
11. Clean all areas inside and outside of the store.
12. Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
13. Understand the store's layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
14. Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions, accidents, or issues and notifying store management.
15. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
16. Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying the appropriate department or store manager of repairs needed.
17. Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
18. Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
19. Work cooperatively in high-paced and sometimes stressful environments.
20. Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational, and cooperative manner.
21. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
22. Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.
23. Support and assist through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
24. Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
